In his latest post to our firm’s Virginia (VA) Trucking Accident blog, my colleague John C. highlights the importance of the so-called “move over law” for protecting police officers and emergency responders whose jobs require them to work on the shoulders of often dangerous roads and highways. John was prompted to write when details emerged of an incident in which the driver of a tractor-trailer hit and severely injured a Virginia senior state trooper who was engaged in a reckless driving stop on I-664 in Chesapeake near the Bowers Hill interchange.
