Wreck on Linwood-Southmont Road Results in Multiple Injuries | Shapiro, Washburn & Sharp

A head-on crash resulted in two people requiring medical treatment at a hospital. The driver of a 2004 Mazda crossed over the center lane on Linwood-Southmont Road and slammed into a 2006 Dodge van head on. Both drivers had to be airlifted to the Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.

According to The Dispatch, there were two other passengers in the Dodge van who had to be transported to the medical center as well.

Police estimated the Mazda driver’s speed to be 55 mph at the time of impact. The speed limit in the area is 45 mph. As a result, the driver was cited for speeding. The driver of the Dodge van was estimated to be going the speed limit.
